Seth C. Hunter
Biography
Seth Hunter brings more than 12 years' specialized financial services experience to organizations navigating industry-wide regulatory change, sensitive enforcement actions, and critical compliance initiatives. At Tölt Strategies, he manages complex and sensitive project deliverables, supports strategic planning, and works closely with stakeholders to identify challenges and proactively mitigate risk. By blending legal expertise with strategic advisory skills, Seth guides firms through issues involving commodity futures, derivatives, and securities, helping them reduce risk, strengthen compliance, and capture opportunities for sustainable growth.
Seth is a strategist and communicator who connects high-level regulatory strategy with operational detail. An experienced writer, he coordinates complex, multi-author deliverables through every round of drafts and revisions, produces compliance manuals that explain clearly how a program works, and distills dense regulatory material into concise summary messages that put the right information in front of the right decision-makers. His legal training gives him the fluency to translate regulatory requirements accurately, and he builds presentations that make the case for action.
Seth's background as an architect in New York, before he entered law school, shapes how he thinks visually. He turns complex regulatory concepts into images, summary tables, and graphics, an approach he also brings to his thought leadership, on the principle that words and pictures together are stronger than either alone.
Prior to joining Tölt Strategies, Seth was a Management Consultant in the advisory practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), one of the world's leading professional services firms. There he served clients in the United States and London on domestic and international regulations, consent orders, and initiatives driven by business, operational, and technological change. He also advised clients on implementing the Dodd-Frank Act, with a particular focus on Title VII and swap-dealer compliance.
During law school, Seth worked in the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the City of Chicago Building Department's Enforcement Division, and Washington, D.C.-based financial services think tanks, including Americans for Financial Reform.
